I’ve made kitchari from scratch multiple times. It’s a lot of work — from chopping vegetables, measuring the spices, soaking the beans and rice, and waiting for everything to cook just right. When I saw Abundant Roots’ kitchari kit at my local farmers market, I was so incredibly happy. There are hardly any places that sell kitchari. When I tasted the sample they were giving away, I was even happier. It was tasty and absolutely delicious! And you know it’s good for you when your body thanks you for eating it! I just could not get enough of it and wanted more. I’ve since made it at home and added seasonal greens and veggies. I almost like it best plain, just straight out of the packet! Thank you, Abundant Roots, for sharing your kitchari recipe. You can tell it’s made with love.

This was our first experience with this type of food, so we were skeptical. However, when my traditional, meat and potatoes husband loved it and asked for more, I was shocked. I served it over sauteed flounder and topped it with cilantro and lime juice for the first night, and the second night we had grilled pork with it. We had a total of 4 meals out of one bag (2 meals per person), and the kitchari has shown itself to be quite versatile. We could tell the packets were made with a combination of high quality ingredients and love. We are buying more right this minute 🙂

This was my first experience with kitchari but I couldn’t be more satisfied! I found this wonderful item at the farmers market where this nice couple were selling it. I tasted it and couldn’t not leave with some for my family, I’m a vegan and love food for healing and this was it! I served it with some sautéed onions, cauliflower, and zucchini with seasoning, needless to say we were licking plates clean and went back for seconds.
